How We Collect and Use Information
General Principles
We limit our collection of personal information to what is relevant and necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Providing personal information is generally voluntary, but some information is necessary for us to provide our services (for example, to process your digital License purchase or to respond to an enquiry).
Depending on your location and the context, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- performance of a contract with you (for example, processing your order);
- compliance with legal obligations (for example, tax, accounting, consumer protection);
- our legitimate interests (for example, security, fraud prevention, improving services, marketing similar products); or
- your consent (for example, sending newsletters, using certain cookies, or specific types of marketing).
You may withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
When You Use the Site
When you browse the Site, view product pages or use our services, we and third parties use cookies and similar technologies to allow the Site to function, to understand how the Site is used, to improve performance, and to personalise content where permitted.
Information collected may include:
- IP address and approximate location;
- device and browser type;
- pages viewed, time and date of visit;
- referring URLs and other usage data.
We use strictly necessary cookies based on our legitimate interests to provide the Site. For any non‑essential cookies (for example, analytics or advertising cookies), we will request your consent where required by applicable law (for example, in the EEA/UK and other jurisdictions).
Details of cookies and how to manage them are set out in our Cookie Policy (linked from the Site footer).
When You Submit an Enquiry
When you contact us via the Site, email, or other channels, we may collect:
- name;
- email address;
- order or License reference number (if applicable);
- information about your PC environment and CASIO PC software or application (for example, operating system, general device information, CASIO application version);
- description of your question, issue, or technical problem;
- other information you choose to provide.
We use this information to:
- respond to your request and provide customer support;
- troubleshoot issues related to digital License delivery, activation, or use;
- follow up to ensure your enquiry is resolved.
We process this information based on performance of a contract (where the enquiry relates to a purchase or account) and/or our legitimate interests in providing support and maintaining customer relationships. We do not use enquiry information for automated decision‑making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
We retain customer support communications for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry and maintain appropriate records (for example, typically between 2 and 7 years, depending on legal and operational requirements).
When You Purchase a Digital License

- prevent fraud and misuse, including chargeback investigation and abuse of promotions;
- maintain records of your licenses, including for re‑issue or support where possible.
Payment information (for example, credit card number) is processed by third‑party payment providers and is not stored in full by us. We may receive limited information such as the last digits of the card, card type and status, transaction IDs, and outcome to complete the transaction and for recordkeeping.
If you provide information about other individuals (for example, gifting a License code to someone else), you must ensure that you have the authority to do so. We will use such information only to fulfil that request and will not use it for marketing unless that person independently consents.
We may request additional documentation (such as identification or proof of authorisation) in limited cases to prevent fraud and unauthorised transactions. You are not obliged to provide such information, but we may not be able to complete the transaction without it.
Order and License information may be retained for as long as your licenses remain active and for an additional period as required or permitted by applicable law (for example, for tax and accounting obligations, dispute handling, and anti‑fraud measures).

If we delete your account, some transaction and License data may be retained in anonymised or pseudonymised form, or where we must retain them for legal, accounting, or fraud‑prevention purposes.

If you log in or connect through a third‑party service (for example, social login or identity provider), we may receive information such as your name, email address, profile picture, and any other information you authorise the third party to share. You should review the privacy settings of such third‑party services to control what information is shared with us.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information in the common sense of “selling”. In some jurisdictions (for example, under certain US state laws), “sharing” for targeted advertising or analytics may be considered a “sale”; where relevant, your rights are described in the “Region‑Specific Notices” section.
We may share your information with:
- transcosmos group companies: To operate the TC License Store, provide support, manage digital licenses, and for internal administrative purposes.
- Casio Computer Co., Ltd. and CASIO group companies: As independent licensors and product providers, only where necessary for purposes such as product support, License validation, safety, compliance, and product improvement relating to CASIO PC software, applications, and related digital products.
- Service providers and vendors: Including payment processors, fraud‑prevention and risk‑scoring providers, email and customer support platforms, cloud hosting providers, analytics services, and Shopify apps that support our store’s operation. These parties process your information on our behalf and are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data and use it only for specified purposes.
- Authorities and legal recipients: When required by law, legal process, or government request; to enforce our terms; to protect our rights, property, users, or the public; or to prevent fraud, security issues, or other harmful activities.
- Business transfers: In connection with any merger, reorganisation, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction involving transcosmos inc., subject to appropriate safeguards.
- With your consent or at your direction: For example, where you instruct us to share information with a reseller, school, or institution that manages licenses on your behalf.
We may also share aggregated or anonymised information that does not reasonably identify you with third parties for lawful purposes (such as usage statistics, trends, or product improvement).
Third‑Party Apps and Links
The Site may use third‑party applications (for example, on the Shopify platform) and may include links to external websites. These third parties have their own privacy policies and practices, which we do not control and for which we are not responsible.
If you access a third‑party site or service from the Site (including by clicking a link or using a social login), your information may be collected directly by that third party and handled according to its privacy policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of all external sites and services you use.
International Data Transfers
Because TC License Store serves customers worldwide, your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including Japan and other jurisdictions where transcosmos group companies, CASIO group companies (as independent licensors) or our service providers are located.
Where required by law (for example, for transfers from the EEA/UK/Switzerland to countries without an adequate level of data protection), we will implement appropriate safeguards, such as:
- adequacy decisions;
- standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or the UK government;
- other lawful transfer mechanisms.
You can obtain more information about applicable transfer safeguards by contacting support@tc-licensestore.com.

We implement reasonable technical, organisational, and physical measures designed to protect your personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, or access.
Examples include:
- encryption of data in transit;
- limited access to personal data on a need‑to‑know basis;
- secure configuration of servers and systems;
